Tree Trimming Request

Unfortunately, trees and power lines aren’t a good mix. In fact, trees growing in or around power lines are the number one cause of blinks and outages on our system.
Most importantly, however, is the safety of the general public and utility personnel that may be compromised by trees too close to energized equipment and lines.

Jackson County REMC’s Right-of-Way tree trimming program trims, controls, and if necessary removes trees and other vegetation 20 feet on either side of the center-line of electric lines.

REMC will notify members when tree trimming will be starting in your area. A representative of REMC may also leave a doorknob card if there are any questions he may have about the proposed trimming on your property.

If you have a tree that you feel could endanger the power line and would like to discuss having it removed you can fill out the request form below or contact the Operations Department Toll Free at (800) 288-4458. If you can please mark the tree(s) in question with some ribbon or other marking device so our personnel can be assured of the trees in question.
