What's happening in REMC Country?

Contact us at least two weeks in advance to list your not-for-profit organization's special event on our website. Be sure to include a phone number we can call during the day to verify the information before it is published. Contact us at least eight weeks in advance for your event to be published in our monthly newsletter, "Watt High Lights", which is mailed to our members at the middle of the month.

 

The REMC is continuing to collect aluminum can tabs for the

Indianapolis Ronald McDonald House. 

Drop your tabs off at our office, or save them until

the 2010 Annual Meeting on July 22.


 

Our next office closing will be on May 31, 2010, for Memorial Day

A crew will be on standby to take care of outages and emergencies.

March 13 - Spring Kick-Off sponsored by CARD (Crothersville Area Revitalization and Development) at the Crothersville Vernon Township Fire Station from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Indoor flea market and food. Prize drawings at 2:45 (must be present to win). Proceeds to purchase flags and a flagpole for the fire department. April 10 - Psi Iota Xi, Beta Mu Chapter presents 40 Years of College in concert at 7:30 p.m at the Royal-Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown. Admission is $12.50 per person. April 17 - 63rd Annual Hamilton Township Alumni Banquet at the Cortland School. Social hour at 6:00 p.m.; dinner meeting at 7:00 p.m. Cost is $12.50 per person. Reservations required by April 7 by contacting Luci Angel at 812-530-6176.

 

April 24 - Kids Fest 2010 & Seymour’s Day of the Young Child Celebration - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Seymour High School gymnasium. Red Cross Disaster Training is being offered to all volunteers in South Central Indiana by the Jackson County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Client Casework will be offered on February 9 & 16, Disaster Assessment on March 9, and Shelter Operations on April 13. All classes will be held at the Community Foundation of Jackson County, 107 Community Drive, Seymour, Indiana and will begin at 6:00 pm. April 17 - Scott County Museum Fundraising Auction 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Scott County Fairgrounds. Event held in conjunction with Tobias Auction Service. WASHINGTON COUNTY

 

April 3 (Rain date April 10) - Jakes Event sponsored by the Delaney Creek Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Classes for all ages the David and Sara Day farm. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required by March 30. Check-in at 8:00 a.m.; round robin classes at 9:00 a.m.; closing and door prizes at 3:15 p.m. Lunch provided. April 23 & 24 - 10th Annual Spring Home & Garden Show at the Washington County Fairgrounds sponsored by Leader Publishing Co. Hours are 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. More than 90 vendors will have booths for people to browse. Each booth vendor will give away a door prize and several grand prizes will also be awarded at the end of the show. No admission charged. There will be food available each day.
